The Rewinding nature of the Mountain Gorillas is really fantastic, you have to note that the Congo Gorillas continue to cross to Rwanda on a regular basis. Well, Visiting Rwanda wildlife exposes us to many tourist attractions in Africa which include: Mountain Gorillas, Mountain Muhavura Uganda, Virunga Ranges, wildlife in Uganda, Best Birding areas Africa, Bwindi Impenetrable forest, Akagera NationalPark, Kihali Town, Lakes, volcanoes national park rwanda. Activities shall include: Nature walks rwanda, touring kigali city, visiting Rwanda, Gorilla tracking, Hiking Mountains, Boat cruise, wildlife encounters, Rwanda culture encounters and many more.
Note that: The expected distance time travel from Kigali Town to the National Park takes an estimated time of about 2 hours provided there are no limiting factors like rain which might delay the exercise. Registering at the park’s entrance, get assigned to a game park guide who there then, takes us around the National Park. Then, as agreed prior, we set off sighting for certain species depending on our programme.
Day 1: Travel to Lakes Kivu, Ihema
Explore the discovered Mineral contents in Lake Kivu: methane (estimated to be 65 cubic kilometers. If burnt over one year, it would give an average power of about 100 gigawatts for the whole period). Explore Vast wild life species like Giraffes, Hippos, Baboons, Lions, Topis, Zebras, waterbucks.
Explore a Boat Ride on the Ihema Lake, Enjoy its biodiversity, except fish, the lake is home to hippopotami and crocodiles. As for birds it has over 550 species including unique species such as Shoebill (Balaeniceps rex) and the Papyrus Gonolek (Laniarius mufumbiri). Among the endemic species, there are the ibis (Threskiornithinae), jacanas, herons, Plovers (Charadriidae), Sandpipers, Malachite Kingfisher (Alcedo cristata), Hawk and many others.

Day 2: Full day Game drive in the Northern section
An Early breakfast, with your packed lunch, bottled water.Then, Drive Northern section of the park thru the mutumba hill as we explore avariety of animal species. (Savannah woodlands and Open Savannah grasslands). After, we haveLunch in the Open plains, continue spotting the Elands, Buffalos, Masai Giraffes. Later, Drive back to our preferred hotel / safari lodges
Day 3: Travel to Volcanoes National Park
An Early breakfast, And then Take off a 4hrs drive from Akagera National Park thru Kigali city to Volcanoes National Park the home of the Mountain Gorillas in Rwanda. Lunch will be enroute and several stop overs will be taken as we view the Volcanoes mountains for picture moments and off course the 1000 rolling hills of Rwanda and valleys.Then, we shall Check back into our preferred lodge for Dinner and Overnight.
Day 4: Full Day Gorilla tracking Volcanoes National Park
This is a fully packed day. Breakfast from our lodge, packed lunch and food with at least a litter of bottled water per person, Walking stick on you, rain jackets, long water proof pants tucked in socks, with strong trekking boots and a small back pack. Continue to the briefing center and make registration, get grouped in a Gorilla family to track. Continue to the starting section for the day’s adventure. We need to have it in mind, that sometimes the tracking can take less than 1hr or may even take a full day.
Return later and for graduation where you will receive a certificate from the Volcanoes National Park confirming participation in the Rwandan Gorilla tracking. Check back into our preferred lodge for Dinner and Overnight.
Day 5: Visit Iby’iwacu Cultural Village, Gorilla trekking
Morning Iby’iwacu Cultural visit, Later we shall Visit Gisenyi for relaxation. And then head for the Gorilla trekking in the Volcanoes National Park. Then, we visit the cultural village of iby’iwacu for a great performance from a reprica of the Kings palace of Nyanza and you could become a king or queen for the day.
Later, we shall have performances such as Kinyarwanda, traditional marriage, the medicine man, the black smith and the local food grinding on a carved stone. A 1 hr drive to Gisenyi and have a city tour. Drive along Lake Kivu Overlooking the Democratic Republic of Congo with a relaxation and swimming in the white sand beach.
Day 6: Explore Lake Kivu and travel back to Kigali
After the tour of Lake Kivu, embark on your return journey to Kigali with a drive around town and later continue to Kigali International Airport for your return journey back home or onward journey.
