Samburu National Reserve is a crowned game reserve on the Shore banks of the meandering Ewaso Ng’iro river in Kenya, then getting squeezed on the adjacent desperate-looking junipers of the Buffalo Springs National Reserve. The Savannah is a protected eco-region diversity in Samburu County, accessed just 350 kilometers from the green city in the sun.
Samburu National Reserve’s fascinating dewdrops hanging on the blades of grass and the Savannah’s deep forests form a geographic show piece to hundreds of Samburu Wildlife Species to comply the majestic all three big cats, the lion, cheetah and African leopards, gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra, oryx and reticulated giraffe, elephant, Cape buffalo and hippopotamus, olive baboon, warthogs, Grant’s gazelle, Kirk’s dik-dik, impala, waterbuck and many more. Birdlovers can also opt to include a birding Safari to enjoy bird-watching to the whirling hundreds of bird species like tawny eagle, Verreaux’s eagle, bateleur, grey-headed kingfisher, bee-eaters, sunbirds, Marabou stork, vulturine guineafowl, yellow-necked spurfowl, lilac-breasted roller, secretary bird, superb starling, northern red-billed hornbill, yellow-billed hornbill, and various vultures including the palm-nut vulture.
Day 1: Nairobi Flight to Samburu Game Reserve
Transfer to Wilson airport for your scheduled flight to the countries north. You will pass over lush farmlands and catch glimpses of the glaciered slopes o Mt. Kenya before dropping down to the arid country of the North and the Samburu Game Reserve. On arrival you will be met and transferred to Larsen’s Camp for a night stay on a fully inclusive basis. All meals and 2 game drives are included. Larsen’s is a small and a very atmospheric tented Camp.
Day 2: Samburu Game Reserve, Game Viewing in the Savannah
The guest enjoys a morning and late afternoon game viewing with a break for lunch at the camp and an afternoon spent at leisure Samburu is located north of the central mountains and the equator. This fascinating arid reserve is home to Grevy’s zebra and reticulated giraffe, as well as Oryx, gerenuk, Somali ostrich and dik dik. You will have an excellent chance of seeing lion, leopard, cheetah, and elephant. Spectacular rocky outcrops, wonderful Domas palms and the shaded Ewaso Nyiro River, the life source for the Samburu reserve, make this reserve scenic.
Day 3: Samburu Flight to Nairobi City
Transfer to Samburu airport for the scenic flight back to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport.
