The park was found in 1952 as Kazinga National park covering an area of over 774 sq.miles between Lake Edward and Lake George, No matter the chatter of the trees forms a refreshing habitat to over 95 species of mammals and over 500 species of birds around the famous Ishasha sector known for the roaring tree climbing lions etc. The Park is also famous for its extraordinary volcanic features north east of lake Edward with landscapes of steep deep craters and the volcanic cones such as katwe craters believed to have been created by volcanic activities between 8000 to 10000 years ago. The crater craters play a magnificent role to the surroundings as they boost salt mining.
This Southern part of the park is thinly populated with wildlife, however the inviting Maragambo forest is a home to numerous primates wildlife like the chimpanzees, the blue and red tailed monkey, the black and white colobus monkeys etc. this place is also good for birding with over 400 bird species like the Brown black-headed, gonolek mingos and many others found in the park. Far south there exists the ishasha sector famous to comprise of the tree climbing lions, leopards, elephant, buffalo, Water buck, Uganda kob, warthogs and many more adventurous wildlife in the park.
Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth, Evening Game Drive via Kasenyi Trail, Maragambo Forest
Wake up early moing at 6am for a cup of tea. Our driver/guide will pick you up very early to brief you about the whole trip to Queen Elizabeth National park, And be able to cover up the 7hour drive, and also not to encounter with the traffic jam on your way. Later, have a stopover at the equator where the world main latitude divides the sun into the atmosphere of the north and south pole in Africa. Take beautiful pictures as you enjoy the beauty of the scenery, there are craft shops around where you might admire and buy yourself a souvenir.
Continue to Mbarara, have a stopover for lunch at Agip motel and there after continue as you marvel at the breath taking scenery of open grass, the long hoed Ankole cattle grazing in the Savanna. Arrive in the evening, check in at your accommodation, head for your evening game drive plus kasenyi trail. You will see elephants, cape buffalos, antelopes, warthogs, baboons, hyenas and many others.Enjoy the nature walks as you go through Marramagambo forest to see a number of red tailed monkeys and spot out different bird species and tree species. Day 2: Queen Elizabeth Game Drive, Salt Mining Societies, Kazinga Channel Boat Ride
Wake up early moing, have your breakfast and later, go for a game drive where you will encounter with tree climbing lions, Elephants, Uganda kobs, leopards, antelopes, warthogs, hyenas going back to their dens and also hippos going back to water. After this game drive, head back to the lodge for your lunch and prepare for the Kazinga channel boat ride at 3oclock.
Have an experience to see one of the largest concentration of hippos and numerous crocodiles, buffalos, among others along Kazinga Channel. More so, this Channel attracts a variety of animals and bird species. Day 3: Primate Walk in Kyambura Gorge, Transfer to Entebbe Airport/ Place of Pickup
Wake up early moing for your breakfast with the full remembrance of the previous day in the wildeess. Prepare for a guided primate walk along Kyambura Gorge in search for the habituated chimpanzee. These friends of man are believed to have a close resemblence to humans biologically in their D.N.A make up, their incredible jungle vocals, hooting, screaming, grunting and drumming in the dead wildeess will ease track of these African primate species. After encountering with these lost friend of man, retire back from your short walk in the wildeess a place lost in the dead, Then Head back to prepare and drive back to Kampala before 6pm to your hotel or for your departure.
