How to get to Ngamba Island?

Ngamba Island being a touristy centre, the Uganda wildlife Authority in partnership with African Adventure Travellers responsibly arranges a short boat ride that spans 23 kms away from the main land. The boat ride gives a thrilling mood and rewards you with aquatic life encounter like aquatic birds (ducks, pigeons, geese, herons, ibises, spoon-bills , cranes, rails, moorhens ,swans, coots etc), see out the fishing villages.

Step 1 is to book with African Adventure Travellers a tours and travel Agency- in partnership with Uganda Wildlife Authority for your safety travel to visit Uganda Chimpanzees on Lake Victoria Islands. On your arrival, our tour guide will be honoured to receive and take you in a safari vehicle for your 3 days Uganda tour. Set off to the landing site on the shores of Lake Victoria, in Entebbe City. Our guide will accompany you on 45-minutes boat ride to the targeted Uganda Island with Chimpanzee Ngamba. Day 1: Activities on 3 days Ngamba Island safari

Day 3: Enclosure of 3 days Ngamba Island tour – Retire back to the main Land

A bright morning over the Lake Victoria edges rewinds our memories back to the adventurous 3 days Chimpanzee tracking Uganda, well this time around; Pack and prepare for the transfer back to the mainland. On our way, we shall en-route and bypass at the equator and do some spot fishing. Many tourists prefer this place, as they themselves participate in fishing. Feel free to take pictures for your memorable safari. After this, our guide will drive you back to your hotel or Entebbe Airport for your flight.

Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary was put into existance in October 1998 to give refuge and care to the orphaned little chimpanzees that have been rescued by the Uganda Wildlife Authority and perhaps need special attention. Many of the Ngamba Island chimpanzees were rescued from poachers and are unlikely to survive reintroduction to the wild. Ngamba Island is set up as an eco-friendly project with rainwater collection, compost toilets, proper waste management practices and solar energy for electricity not forgetting the availabiltiy of hot water all day. The Sanctuary is a non-profit organisation which is co-ordinated and managed by the Chimpanzee Sanctuary & Wildlife Conservation Trust.
